Hawker Dragonflies

These are some of the most challenging dragonflies to obtain good images of.

They spend a lot of time on the wing and the Brown Hawker in particular seems to rarely perch in areas that are accessible.

The exception to the rule and perhaps my favourite dragonfly is the Golden Ringed. It regularly perches in the sun on fairly low level vegetation & close up shots are fairly easy to obtain.

Common Species

Southern Hawker
Brown Hawker
Migrant Hawker

Golden Ringed- Dragonfly
Emperor Dragonfly
